What's in this section?
The "Free stuff" section is where you will find my favorite free weight loss and healthy living reasources on the net.I personally find it very difficult to find simple, informative websites as far as health goes. Many websites have hidden agendas, are confusing, or outright annoying. This is why those little websites we rarely find on the top search results on Google are such gems - because they're hard to find.
Keep in mind that this is always under construction - I'll add websites as I find them.
Guides, Tips, & Lists
- Nutrition Data - This is without a doubt one of the most amazing & informative nutrition resources on the net. You can look up pratically and type of food and learn about its nutritional content and health in seconds. I highly recommend using this website!
- Help Guide - A really great, non-profit organization with neat info. Great read!
- Free Weight Loss - a nice, free guide written by a nice lady with her own weight loss experience. The name is to the point, as is the guide itself.
- BBC Healthy Living - neat resource, with thourough information about all the aspects of a healthy lifestyle. And a great name, too!
- Dr. Oz's 10 Ways to Live Healthier - Yep, I confess. I watch Oprah at times. Anyway, this resource has some great tips and it's totally free.
Calculators & Gadgets
- Test: How Healthy are you? - While hardly comprehensive or exhaustive, this little test can give you a rough estimate of how you're doing and what you might want to change. Perhaps what I like about it is that it's so simple and to the point.
Movies, Books & Others
- Food Matters - A great documentary about food. Recommended. (Yes, I know it's supposed to be free, but you can watch it online for about $5).
- Diet for a new America - Perhaps not for everyone, but still a great eye opener as far as food goes. This video is split into 8 clips which are about 3 minutes each. You can find the remaining parts under the "Related Videos" box to the right of the movie box.
