Hello, and welcome to my weight loss guide!
What is this site?
It's an online weight loss & healthy living guide that's meant to be a simple, straightforward, & trustworthy.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Zero. Nada. It's free! Why did you write this guide?
During my weight loss process, I found there are many programs, sites, and forums that offered huge amounts of information, advice, support, knowledge, ideas etc. While this information was very helpful and well intentioned, I found it entirely overwhelming at times. Also, I found that the values of some of the weight loss industry were a bit misplaced. Many brands offer "magic solutions" and rapid weight loss secrets, disregarding the negative

I truly believe that we don't need pills, weird exotic plants, gadgets and/or secrets to lose weight and lead healthy lives. Perhaps the only thing we truly need to lose weight permanently is change of heart - a new way of thinking. This is the purpose of this guide.
I believe that if you are committed, we (as in you and me) can help you lead a healthy lifestyle.
The values that lead me when writing this guide are:
- Keep it simple and straightforward.
- Be honest and trustworthy.
- Make it interesting and different.
- Be short and to the point.
- Aim for sustainable change.
- Don't judge. Just help.
- Develop a Community (Lose weight, gain friends - what could be better?)
A very important note:
The contents of this web site are not intended to offer personal medical advice. You should seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read on this website.I've tried many different things before. Why is this guide different?
I'm not a magician. All I offer is advice from my personal experience and perhaps a different approach. Many weight loss programs deal with symptoms instead treating the causes. This might explain why so many of us lose weight only to gain it back again. I will be addressing some of the less "sexy" and popular weight loss issues - the ones that deal with the core issues of weight loss. What does "Personal Guide" mean?
It means that this guide and web site is built and maintained by me (and, of course, anyone who chooses to participate). I am not related to any company, nor am I professionally trained as a doctor or dietitian. I'm just a guy with weight loss experience whose schooled by information found in books, magazines, the internet, and life. How does this guide work?
As opposed to most diets, programs, books, and guides, I'm not going to tell you what to eat (or what not to eat). Why? First of all, I believe that you and your body knows what you need much better than I do. Second, knowing what to eat is simple - putting this knowledge to use isn't always easy. And lastly, there are many, many free resources that explain everything you need to know about food, probably much better than I could. This is why my sole purpose is to give you the knowledge, emotional readiness, and motivation to make healthy choices.I'm ready to get started. What now?
First things first: make a commitment. If you really want to change your life, you need make a commitment. Perhaps the best way to do this is by writing a contract. Once you're done head over to the basics. This page explains the basics of healthy living and gives a few tips to get you started. Then, move on to the healthy tips section, where all the articles are found. Exciting, isn't it?How can I show my support and appreciation?
